Cosmetic Services:

Botox Cost is per unit:  $15/unit

How many units a patient requires depends on many issues including:  the strength of the facial muscles,  previous use of Botox, and the number of areas treated.

On average:

Frown lines:   $450
Crows Feet:   $300

Botox does start to wear off at 3 months, however many people are able to wait 4-6 months between injections.  The longer you use Botox, the less you will require.  Your facial muscles are retrained to not make the "squinty face".

I started Botox at the age of 38 (I'm now almost 45, and I only require it about every 8-9 months).

Botox is not used for plumping the loss of volume in the lower half of the face.

Fillers:

In general,  no one uses collagen anymore for several reasons.
It is unreliable,  it does not last long,  and some people are allergic to collagen.

Fillers are to plump the loss of volume that occurs in the cheeks and around the mouth.

Many people do not like the sagginess along their jawline or the folds from their nose to their mouth.  This can be remedied by injecting a filler into the cheeks, to re-create the apple of the
cheek that we had in our youth.

Fillers can also be used to plump the lip.  Almost everyone over the age of 40 starts to lose volume in their upper lip ( unless you had great full lips to start with!).

I am very particular about not over-plumping the lip.  The overuse of fillers in this area is what makes us notice Lisa Rhina and Priscilla Presley (for all the wrong reasons).

My goal with any cosmetic procedure is to have the patient look rested and younger.  It is not possible to take a 50 year old face and make it look 25 again.  So it is important to have realistic expectations.  It is always possible to add more gradually,  but once the fillers are there,  you can not remove them.

Fillers can last between 9 mos-2 years depending on the location and type of filler used.
